long update

Sorry I haven’t been Tweeting but nothing has been going on for a while. Then E went out and bought a 50 in TV. We got a stomache bug. Then he got the BlueRay player. And now last weekend he got the FiosTV. He said he got the Fios because he was lying on the couch sick and there was nothing on, well guess what? There still isn’t. It’s got a million channels, plus On Demand, and there still isn’t anything good on. It’s made my head spin. I hope he’s gotten it out of his system ‘cuz I dunno what he could buy next.

We were supposed to come to Houston in early June for a weekend but I forgot to take time off so we’ll see what happens.

Work is still work and E is doing a lot of it. Both of my kids got new glasses (on sale at Target). We’re going to pick up G’s tonight. And N won 2nd place in her class at the district art show! They’re also both playing the Beatles Rock Band and really get into it. They watched a Hard Days Night last night. They’re too cute sometimes. I can’t believe there are only 2 more weeks of school left! I have no clue what we’ll do all summer! Except try to make it to Houston for a week at least.

Remember Me

This movie will impact you, whether you hate it, feel cheated in the end or have a good cry. It touches a lot of emotional pressure points and I think that is why people react to it so strongly. It can make you feel uncomfortable and question your life and I think not too many people were prepared for it. They thought, and it was advertised as such, it was going to be a love story but it’s not really, it’s about family dealing with tragedy and their relationships. I think this is why the reviews are so varied. Many lash out at the uncomfortable ending, and spoil it, but ultimately I think you have to see it in order to judge it. It’s a very personal experience. If you don’t like emotional dramas than don’t go near it but I may go see it again today, definitely within the next two weeks.

This is my side yard and Sam. We woke up to at least 3 inches of snow. We’ve got about 5 now and it’s supposed to snow harder in the afternoon! I finally get to post snow pictures like they are doing in other parts of the country! YAY!

N came home from school last Friday and said “Merry Christmas!” She brought home this quilt painting project they did in art class. She wanted to give it to me for Christmas but it was chosen to be displayed at the school so she just got it back. I put it up on my wall, in my quilting space, this weekend.

Working out

So a couple of weeks ago I noticed new workout videos on Netflix in their instant view catalog, great selection. I looked at several but they looked dorky, mostly the 10 minute ones, and I picked one to try this morning. It was Trainer’s Edge: Killer Abs and Back. I lasted 20 minutes, it was tough! Those 20 minutes felt the same as if I pulled pallets at work for an hour and a half! So after I drank a ton of water, I watched Crunch: CardioSalsa. That one looks like fun but fast & it’s about 40 minutes long. I think I might try it this weekend. The only downside was the lady had a thick Puerto Rican accent. Just because she’s Latino doesn’t make it more “authentic”. I like the Crunch videos a lot. We have 2 of their Yoga videos and while we don’t do them much, they are really well made and keep up the encouragement. Netflix instant view is definitely our favorite way to watch TV.

I was waiting for my thread to come FedEx and getting impatient so I called to find out the tracking information. I had called the number on Monday and they said it would be delivered on Saturday. I called it just now and my thread had been in my mailbox since Thursday!!! I could’ve been quilting all day today! Argh!

But now I have it and I’m off to inspect it. It looks like a lot but nice in the wrapper.

I’m so excited about my new quilting setup but I have to go get groceries and water. Maybe my thread will be in when I get home.

While I was putting away my sewing stuff, I found a 6.5 in square Omnigrip quilt ruler in an old book! That was so awesome! I don’t know what it was doing there.
